Where is New York's state legislature or has Gov. Spitzer dissolved it?
Notice how
it suddenly has become politically incorrect to call the foreign invaders
"aliens." The
liberal media has now proclaimed them to be "immigrants."

Clerks opposenew driver's license rules
By RICK KARLIN
Albany Times Union
ALBANY, N.Y. -- New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer is facing a revolt among upstate
county clerks who say they won't go along with his new rule that lets people
get driver's licenses even if they might be illegal immigrants.
"Don't send it to me. I'm not going to give a driver's license to someone
who cannot prove their legal status in the United States," said Rensselaer
County Clerk Frank Merola, the most vociferous opponent so far, who said he
plans to turn away those who can't prove they are citizens or who have a
visa to be in the U.S.
Instead Merola, whose office is in Troy, said he plans to send those
applicants to the state Motor Vehicles Department office in Albany once the
new policy is in full effect in May.
"I do not feel comfortable doing this; my staff does not feel comfortable
doing this. We were not consulted as to the policy change," Merola said.
Other clerks agree, said Columbia County Clerk Holly Tanner. Of 11 county
clerks in the Hudson Valley region, she said eight plan at least some kind
of protest against the new policy, and some may refuse to abide by it.
"We do not want to process these documents in our local offices," Tanner
said.
The issue arose Sept. 21 when Spitzer rescinded rules adopted four years ago
under Gov. George Pataki that outlined the forms of identification that are
needed to obtain a driver's license.
Under the new rules, applicants from other countries can use a valid
passport but don't need a visa or an "ineligibility letter" from the federal
government explaining why they don't have a Social Security card.
Foreign students in the U.S. on study visas, for example, might not have a
Social Security card but are here legally.
Critics say the change opens the door for thousands of illegal immigrants to
get New York licenses.
"It's contrary to everything that we've been taught," Tanner said.
Tanner conceded that county clerks are considered agents of the governor in
motor vehicle matters, which raises a question of whether they may legally
turn away applicants.
That requirement was emphasized by Spitzer spokeswoman Christine Anderson.
"County clerks are required by law to respond and adapt to Department of
Motor Vehicle policy," she said.
Asked what will happen if county clerks go through with their threat, a
Spitzer official said the issue will be dealt with then.

As opposed to the "anti-homosexual" homosexuals and pedophile
congressmen and senators from Middle America?

Republican Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld authorized the rape of
children in Iraqi prisons in order to humiliate their parents into
providing information about the anti-American insurgency.
These are all matters of public record, not hearsay. They have been
reported in both the local press where the incidents occurred and in
various national media. The perverts in question have come from all
over the country. Their major similarity is that they are Republican
Conservative Christian activists who have made their mark by preaching
family values while performing unspeakable acts of perversion, many
with minors.
So much for family values from the religious right. Now, I am not
saying that there aren’t a few pervs who call themselves Democrats,
but, somehow, these holier than thou arsh luchs (you can look it up,
it’s Yiddish for a**holes) are true and certain hypocrites along with
being perverts.
When a political party presents itself as the party of the righteous,
whether it is The Republican Party or the Shiite Party in Iraq, or for
that matter some members of the various Chasidic sects, you can be
absolutely certain that there is something being hidden under all of
that religious pomp. Consider the child molestation scandals that have
rocked The Roman Catholic Church over the past few years, and you will
realize that this problem covers a broad range of people.
However, when you consider the number of Republican members of the
religious right/anti choice crowd that have been arrested and sentenced
for these perverse acts with children, you come to realize that in
their place, at least, religion and conservative politics are truly the
hiding places of perverts and scoundrels, perhaps in larger numbers
than anywhere else in our country.
Or as Gomer Pyle might have put it, “Surprise, Surprise!”
